The Human-Animal Bond

The bond between humans and their pets is one of strength, dedication, and love. This bond is an active reaching out and sharing of life with another living being, who happens not to be human. This relationship offers us a chance to share and express of our pure selves, without needing to defend our actions or feelings.
Companion animals, as we have come to call them, give us our greatest opportunities to express love, without ever having to worry about being judged or rejected. They give us back a devotion that is unmatched by any other relationship. Our pets always provide us with unqualified love and acceptance in an otherwise demanding and critical world. Their obedience and respect give us an increased sense of self-worth. In return, we place them in positions of great personal value.

Companion animals enjoy preferential treatment in many households, and are just as loved as any other members of the family. This life-long bond is a commitment we feel just as strongly as you. Like all pet parents, we want your pets to live long, healthy, and happy lives. We also want you to be fully educated about the transmission of pet disease and the steps you can take to prevent them. That is why we take the time to care, to listen, and especially to explain (educate).

We Take Client Education Seriously!
Because your pets are such important family members, we take every opportunity to keep you up-to-date on the ever increasing effectiveness of veterinary medicine and educate you about the importance of preventive (wellness) health care. We feel the more our clients know about the health of their pet the better they can be about keeping their pets healthy.
In each veterinary visit, we provide you with the following educational materials:
  • Wellness brochure specific to your pet’s stage of life
  • Pre-exam checklist outlining the current preventive health status of your pet
  • Pet health report card as a summary of your pet’s visit
  • LifeLearn educational handouts for medical, surgical, dental, behavioral or nutritional conditions that your pet may have
  • Puppy or kitten packets that contain new pet information at the first 3 puppy or kitten wellness visits

Each of our exam rooms has educational brochure displays. The displays contain American Animal Hospital Association brochures on a number of pet health care topics and product brochures addressing pet vaccination, heartworms, fleas and ticks, and pet dental care. Please help yourself to these brochures.
