In addition to our in house lab, we have access to any laboratory test needed through our network of referral laboratories.

Diagnostic Imaging

Our diagnostic imaging capabilities provide a non-invasive way to visualize the internal organs and bones of your pet using digital x-rays or ultrasound. Conditions such as fractured bones, hip dysplasia, internal organ enlargement, and foreign body ingestion may be diagnosed with our high quality xrays. Ultrasound allows us to evaluate the internal structure of organs such as the liver, kidneys and bladder. In some cases, we may be able to avoid surgery by using ultrasound to guide needle biopsies of internal organs.

Endoscopy

The endoscope is used to view and diagnosis foreign bodies, tumors, and other problems that occur in small spaces such as the nasal cavity or ear canal.

It is also used to view and diagnosis conditions of the abdominal cavity.  It may also be used to obtain abdominal diagnostic specimens such as liver biopsies, thus eliminating the need for abdominal exploratory surgery.

Electrocardiography (EKG)

Our veterinarians can evaluate your pet’s heart in several ways. One valuable indicator of heart function is to measure the heart’s electrical activity with an electrocardiogram.

Doppler Blood Pressure

Just as in human medicine, blood pressure is a very important parameter to measure and monitor in pets.  We use a doppler unit, the most accurate non-invasive method to obtain blood pressures in pets. It is especially important to monitor blood pressure in pets with diseases like kidney disease, heart disease, and feline thyroid disease.

Tonometry

Glaucoma in pets is a serious and very painful disease of the eye. The accurate diagnosis of glaucoma is difficult without specialized equipment. Our doctors use a tonometer to quickly and accurately determine if your pet's intra-ocular pressures are too high - the primary indicator of glaucoma.
