St. Mary’s Veterinary Hospital was the first animal hospital in St. Mary’s County. It had been owned and operated by Dr. Edward Dobry for 30 years. In February of 1987, Dr. Kirk Forrest and Anne Forrest moved from Ohio to purchase the hospital from Mrs. Alice Dobry.
Dr. Forrest and Anne were the only staff members that February of “87 in a 30 year old brick building. In the years that have passed since then, the hospital was rebuilt in 1999 and the staff has grown to 6 veterinarians and 22 support (reception, technician, kennel and management) staff. Even though our appearance and numbers have changed, our core philosophy has not. That philosophy has always been “Serving you and your pets!”
Since 1987, we have provided pet owners with not only the latest in pet health care technology, but also top notch customer service.
